Her Voice by Bare Opera

Come and join us on Friday December 6th as Bare Opera returns to The New Work Project for 'Her Voice'.

Based on a text by Jean Cocteau and composed by Francis Poulenc, La Voix Humaine is a 40-minute operatic melodrama for a solo female voice. The story is both raw and brutally honest as it explores the feelings of a woman as she has her final phone conversation with her lover before he leaves her. Despite being composed in 1959, the text sheds light on the kind of false intimacy and solitude that new technology creates.

Soprano Maria Lacey returns to Bare Opera to perform this rare gem with Artistic Director and acclaimed pianist Laetitia Ruccolo. Set in the Lounge of The New Work Project, the audience will have the opportunity to witness, up-close, the real-time unraveling of a woman’s relationship.

Doors will open at 7.30 pm, and the performance will begin around 8pm.

Investigating a Monster: An Evening with Maureen Callahan

Come and join us on Tuesday December 3rd as we host an evening with Maureen Callahan, award-winning author of the New York Times bestseller American Predator.

When investigative journalist Maureen Callahan first heard about Israel Keyes in 2012, she was captivated by how a killer of this magnitude could go undetected by law enforcement for over a decade. And so began a project that consumed her for the next several years - uncovering the true story behind how the FBI ultimately caught Israel Keyes, and trying to understand what it means for a killer like Keyes to exist.

Our evening will begin with an intimate fireside chat with Maureen in which she'll explain what first prompted her to pursue this incredible story and how she went about uncovering the truth over several long, arduous years. We'll then open the floor to questions, comments, and feedback from the audience. There'll be drinks and nibbles, and Maureen will be available to sign your copies of her book.

Careers without Constraints

Are you grinding in your career but unsure how to advance? Have you picked up some new skills but keep being told to do things like everyone else? Maybe you feel out of place when you see another strategist killin' it every single day? Or maybe sometimes you question whether you even are a 'strategist.'

We feel you. We got you. Which is why we're hosting this workshop just for you, in partnership with our friends at STRTGST.

Nick Susi, Director of Strategy at Complex and Vic Pineiro, SVP of Content and Social Media at Big Spaceship, will co-host a workshop in which they'll reveal how they navigated their careers outside of neat boxes and instead fully embraced their multidisciplinary skills (even when they were told not to).
